Betty Barker- 90 year old woman from Ashland in USA is now Hospice of North Central Ohio’s volunteer of the year


Betty Barker from Ashland in USA has been spoken highly by now. It is great to note that this 90 year old Betty Barker has received the prestigious HNCO or Hospice of North Central Ohio’s Saundra J.Rule Dauch Volunteer of the Year Award. Incredible isn’t it!!

The day 16th of November 2016 would be special for her because on that day she was honored at the Volunteer Holiday Breakfast. It was in the year 2001 this Betty Barker started volunteering for HNCO and at that she was 75 years old and offered to clean up the flower beds at the hospice office and was simply superb.

Various types of works done by Betty Barker are arranging flowers, helping in the office works, supervising mailings etc. It is important to note that in the last ten years or so she was responsible for managing stocked supplies and caught the attention of many with her sincere work.

It is now said that Betty Barker still volunteers two or three days in a week and has been inspiring for many there. It is clear that this 90 year old woman with great energy and enthusiasm is considered highly. This sensational award would be given every November for those who have made impact and worked with superb commitment. It involves process like submission of nominations by supervisors which is then reviewed by the selection committee.

According to Bill Kahl who is executive director of HNCO Betty Barker’s was extraordinary in her work and her ‘’can do’’ attitude was superb and inspirational. Great words!!
