Not many of us would live for 100 years in our lives and get noticed. A woman named Stella Kelly is 101 years of age and she made many heads turn when she celebrated her birthday for the needy children’s in Africa by donating presents to fill the 12 shoeboxes. It is now said that she had knitted a scarf by herself and she donated this scarf also for the kids. Remarkable isn’t it!!
It must be noted that this 101 year old Stella Kelly lives in Cherry Grove Nursing home located in Horeswood in Ireland and it is present in the electoral division of Kilmokea. It is great that 101 boxes were sent to Africa on her 101st birthday and it was amazing that even at the age of 101 this Stella Kelly involved herself in packing the boxes and also covered all the boxes.
It is superb that she was helped by her daughters Margaret and Hilda in these activities. It is now said that reading and handicraft are her super interests and she took great pleasure in knitting a scarf all by herself and surprised many around her.
Marie Dobbs who is the Cherry Groves activities coordinator heaped praises on the 57 residents on the nursing home who all were involved along with their families in purchasing gifts plus filling of the boxes. To recognize their efforts a certificate was given to them that could be seen framed and hung on the wall.
It is now revealed that some of the items present in the shoeboxes were toothpastes, hats, gloves, soft toys, puzzles etc. Awesome and inspiring Stella Kelly!!
